AI Search Visibility
If you still think people only search on Google, you should probably look at AI

I still hear the same sentence surprisingly often: as long as we are visible on Google, we are fine. And yes, Google matters. A lot. But if you believe your customers only search there, you are missing a pretty significant shift.
People open ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity and ask more than informational questions. They ask for recommendations, suitable companies and solutions to a specific problem. The answer may mention only a handful of names. Are you one of them?
Soooo... how does AI decide who gets mentioned?
AI does not experience your website like a person does. It tries to understand who you are, what you offer, who it is for and whether other sources support those facts. If your website looks beautiful but nobody can explain what you do after five seconds, an AI system will struggle too.
This is where SEO and GEO meet. SEO helps people find you through traditional search engines. GEO helps AI systems understand, classify and potentially use your content in an answer. They are not separate worlds. Both rely on clarity, structure, useful information and trust.
What AI needs to understand about your business
- What you actually offer
- Who your offer is for
- Where and in which languages you work
- What experience and expertise support your offer
- Why your information can be trusted
That sounds obvious, right? Yet many websites hide exactly those facts behind clever headlines, broad promises and sentences that sound polished but say very little. People notice. AI systems do too.
Search for your own business
Open an AI tool and ask which businesses it recommends for your service in your region. Then ask what it knows about your company. Is the answer accurate? Are important services missing? Does your business appear at all?
Please do not panic if the answer is incomplete. It does not mean you need to buy ten new tools 🤓 It shows you where your digital communication needs to become clearer.
What you can genuinely do now
Explain your offer as if you were speaking to a person
Every service page should clearly explain what you offer, who you help, how the process works and what result is realistic. No riddles. No empty marketing language.
Show your experience instead of simply claiming it
Useful articles, real examples, clear authorship and verifiable information give your expertise context. AI cannot guess everything you know. You need to make it visible.
Keep your information consistent
Your name, services, location and positioning should match across your website, profiles and relevant directories. Contradictions create uncertainty for people and machines.
And please, do not start writing for robots
This is where many businesses get it wrong. Good AI visibility does not mean stuffing pages with phrases or suddenly sounding artificial. Quite the opposite. The strongest content answers real questions clearly, thoroughly and like a human.
Write for the person trying to make a decision. If your content genuinely helps them, search engines and AI systems can usually understand it more easily too.
Google is not disappearing. Search is simply getting bigger
People move between Google, social media, reviews and AI assistants. Visibility no longer means ranking in one place. Your business needs to remain recognisable across several systems.
The good news? You do not need a magical shortcut. You need a website people can understand, content with real substance and a consistent digital presence. Those same foundations also strengthen traditional SEO.
